Bet On MLB - Baseball Wagering Sucker Bet Alert
By Robby Maddux
Ok MLB online betting brethrens, if you followed my lead on Tuesday and put your online betting money down on the Los Angeles Dodgers at -1½ +160, you're aware I broke your bankroll a cardinal MLB wagering sin by laying the spread on home chalk, and it bit us in the rump.
The Dodgers' 5-4 win over the New York Mets on Tuesday killed my wager as I essentially gave away three outs with Los Angeles not having to bat in the bottom of the ninth inning with the slimmest of leads, which gave the home team no chance of covering the -1½ run spread.
But bouncing back, with buttock bruises in tow, is my intention for Wednesday's action on the diamond. My season record posted at the end of this article is money-dropping junk. So let's get some back on the matchup between the visiting Los Angeles Angels (22-13) and Kansas City Royals (14-18).
The Angels have had Kansas City's number in recent years. Since 2003, the Halos are a money-making 17-4 against the Royals, posting a 2.92 ERA during the span. The Angels won the first two games of this three-game series with a sparkling 1.50 ERA.
Los Angeles is 20-6 in the last 26 games played at Kauffman Stadium and 40-17 in the last 57 meetings overall. As well, the Halos have won four straight and are a sharp 6-1 in their last seven roadies. They lead the AL West and have been road warriors this season with an away mark of 12-5 for an AL-best.
So why are the Angels underdogs at +110 in Wednesday's series finale versus a Kansas City team that's scored a major league-low 110 runs, owns the worst home record in the AL at 5-9 and facing a Halo's hurler that's struggled against them? Have oddsmakers missed this one? No. The number's guys don't miss games as obvious as this my friends!
With Kansas City being tagged the favorites in the BetUS MLB odds priced at -130, this is your classic ''sucker bet''. While baseball betting fans jump on the Angels, who should be favored and seem the likely lock based on numbers that do not lie, online sportsbooks smile and rack in the cash.
Los Angeles will hand the ball to Jered Weaver (2-4, 4.36 ERA), who has lost three straight starts against the Royals. The right-hander is 2-3 lifetime against Kansas City.
The Royals will counter with right-hander Zack Greinke (3-1, 1.47), who is 0-2 with an 8.49 ERA against Los Angeles in three career appearances, but has been stout this year and owns the second-best ERA in the AL.
Analysis: If it smells like cologne, leave it alone. If it smells like fish, eat it! Gobble up this ''sucker bet'' opportunity and get a belly full of cheese.
