NBA Basketball Betting – Washington at Toronto
By Charles Jay
WHO: Washington Wizards (24-19 SU, 27-15-1 ATS) at Toronto Raptors (24-20 SU, 25-19 ATS)
WHERE: Air Canada Centre in Toronto
WHEN: Wednesday, January 30 at 7 PM ET
BetUS NBA basketball betting odds: TORONTO -10. Total 190.5
In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA betting trends:
* WASH has won 11 of the last 16 meetings SU
* WASH has covered three of the last four meetings
* The last eight meetings have gone OVER the total
* The home team has covered six of the last seven meetings
* TOR has had the shooting edge in six of the last seven meetings
* WASH has had the rebounding edge in three of the last four meetings
Washington has averaged 99.4 points a game. The Wizards register 7.8 steals a game, and have shot 79.6% from the free throw line. Also:
* WASH has covered 12 of its last 17 games
* WASH has won seven of its last ten games SU
* WASH has played five of its last seven games OVER the total
* WASH is 12-5-1 ATS in its last 18 road games
* WASH has played four of its last five road games OVER the total
Toronto has shot 45.7% from the field as a team. The Raptors have allowed opponents to shoot 45%. Toronto has averaged the same number of defensive rebounds as Washington (30.7 per game). Also:
* TOR has won and covered seven of its last ten games
* TOR has played six of its last eight games OVER the total
* TOR has won and covered its last five home games
* TOR has played 11 of its last 16 home games UNDER the total
The Wizards rode 24 points and 20 rebounds by Antawn Jamison to a 108-104 overtime decision over the Raptors on Tuesday night. Chris Bosh had 37 points and 12 rebounds for the Raptors, though, as Washington didn't have enough inside defensive presence to corral him.
Now the teams turn around and go north of the border. Bosh obviously figures to be a major factor again for Toronto, and Caron Butler may have to sit out again for the Wizards, as he did last night, with a hip flexor strain. DeShawn Stevenson picked up the slack in a big way, hitting five three-pointers and finishing with 20 points.
Toronto is 11-4 ATS as a home favorite, but we want to focus in on the total. The last eight meetings between these two have exceeded the number, and in seven of those last eight meetings both sides scored at least 100 points. If you look at the trends posted above, you'll see that both teams have been trending in the direction of "over" in recent games.
So we're going to move that way. We go "over" the total in the BetUS NBA betting odds.
