NBA Betting – Tuesday Night Game Match-ups

New Jersey Nets vs. Sacramento Kings

Tonight’s nightcap in the NBA finds the NJ Nets invading Arco Arena to take on the Sacramento Kings. Both clubs come into this match-up sporting almost identical records. The Nets sport an 18-22 SU mark and have covered the spread in just 15 of their 40 overall games (15-24-1 ATS), while the Kings boast a 17-22 SU overall mark but have been much kinder to their backers ATS going 22-17.

Since winning 7 of 8 games SU between December 20 and January 5th, the Nets have lost 6 of their L/7 SU and come into tonight’s contest in the midst of a 5-game losing streak. During that span, they’ve only managed one cover (1-6 ATS), and most recently got their doors blown off by Phoenix 116-92 as 10.5-point road underdogs Sunday evening. Their offense has been atrocious and their defense has been even worse. Through their L/5 games, the Nets have only managed to rack up 90 PPG and the defense has allowed close to 10 more PPG (106) than their season average (98).

As for the Kings, they enter tonight’s contest playing some of their best ball of the season. They’re coming off a solid 3-game Eastern Conference road swing that saw them go 2-1 both SU and ATS with big wins over Detroit (100-93) and Indiana (110-104). With a healthy Kevin Martin and Mike Bibby reinstalled into the starting line-up, the Kings have rediscovered their game on the offensive side of the court averaging a shade under 106 PPG. However, the defense has given up quite a bit more than Head Coach Reggie Theus would like (108 PPG L/5), but they’ve won 6 of their L/10 and winning is the name of the game.

The Kings opened up as 5.5-point home favorites and the ‘Total’ has already been bet up to 201.5 form the opener of 199.5. The Nets are a combined 16-15 ATS on the road vs. sub .500 Western Conference opponents, while the Kings come in a combined 19-19 ATS at home vs. sub .500 Eastern Conference opponents. The Kings have held the upper hand of late winning 4 of their L/5 overall meetings SU while going 3-2 ATS. They already defeated the Nets earlier this season on the road when they went into Continental Airlines Arena as 5.5-point road dogs and won outright 106-101. ‘Total’ players take note: the Over is a money-making 6-1 ATS the L/7 times they’ve squared off in Sacramento with the averaged score totaling 202 PPG.

Phoenix Suns vs. Milwaukee Bucks

The first game on tonight’s small slate of NBA action finds the red-hot Phoenix Suns squaring off against the Milwaukee Bucks. There’s a stark contrast in records here as the Suns are one of the best shows the NBA has to offer, while the Bucks seemingly haven’t been taken serious since the Jack Sikma days. Moving on, Phoenix to date has notched 29 victories and only 12 losses, but they haven’t been very kind to their betting supporters only cashing their tickets in 18 of their 41 overall games this season (18-22-1 ATS). As for the Bucks, they own a better mark ATS (19-21) this season than SU (16-24).

Phoenix comes into this contest playing some really solid ball, and they’re starting to look like the team we’ve witnessed the last couple years. Since they lost at Utah in embarrassing fashion back on January 10th, the Suns have won 4 of 5 and their coming off a 116-92 home pounding of the NJ Nets on Sunday night. The win was the third straight beatdown the Suns have dished out. The first occurred last Thursday night when they went into La and controlled the game from the opening tip. Only seven players suited up that night and all but one registered double-digit points to cruise to the relatively easy 106-98 road win and cover. In between the NJ and LA Lakers games was a 115-95 shellacking of Minnesota that saw the Suns cash for their backers as 13.5-point home favorites.

Besides winning 4 of 5 games in early January, nothing has seemingly gone right for the Bucks of late. They come into this contest on a 2-game losing streak and they’ve lost 5 of their L/6 SU. Their last time out saw them get railroaded at New Orleans to the tune of a 14-point loss. However, they boast a solid 11-6 SU mark at home so they’ll more than likely give the Suns a test in this spot.

The Suns opened up as 8-point road favorites with a lofty ‘Total’ of 215 for this contest. The Suns are a combined 18-20 ATS (47%) on the road vs. sub .500 Eastern Conference opponents, while the Bucks ring in at 14-15 ATS (48%) at home vs. +.500 Western Conference opponents. The Suns have owned the Bucks the L/10 times they’ve met winning 9 of the 10 match-ups SU, but the Bucks have taken home the cash going 5-4-1 ATS. The underdog is a stellar 10-1-1 ATS their L/12 meetings, and the L/8 meetings have seen the Over go 7-1 ATS.
