The New York Knicks go into Chicago against the Bulls in a game where bad might be playing worse. Or, worse might be playing bad.

In any case, these trends don’t point to a clear-cut winner against the spread:

The New York Knicks are 3 and 8 against the spread in their last 11 road games.

The Chicago Bulls are 5 and 17 against the spread in their last 22 games versus a team from the NBA Atlantic Division.

The Chicago Bulls are 4 and 9 against the spread in their last 13 games overall.

The Chicago Bulls are 5 and 11 against the spread in their 16 home games so far this season.

What does an NBA bettor do when it appears that there is no clear-cut against the spread choice in a game? That NBA bettor does some creative handicapping to find a suitable wager.

The creative handicapping in this case is the fact that the New York Knicks are coming off of their seventh straight loss. There is no leadership either on the court or in the coaching staff for this Bulls’ team. Even though Isaiah is absolutely horrendous for the Knicks, he can still make things happen with a wink and a smile. That might be all the Knicks need in order to end their losing streak tonight.
