Having won six straight games and nine of their last ten, the Los Angeles Lakers, (24-11 SU, 22-12 ATS, 18-16 O/U) enter tonight’s matchup against the young and struggling Seattle Supersonics, (9-27 SU, 16-20 ATS, 13-23 O/U) as one of the league’s hottest teams.
After refusing to part ways with young center Andrew Bynum, the Lakers have been aided immensely this season by Bynum’s eye-opening growth into arguably the best young center in the league.
Unfortunately for Los Angeles, they will face the Sonics without their blossoming big man tonight after Bynum landed on teammate Lamar Odom's foot in last night’s 100-99 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
The 20-year-old Bynum leads the NBA with a 63.6 shooting percentage while also leading the Lakers leads in rebounding, averaging 10.2 boards per game.
Even without Bynum, the Lakers should still be able to handle a Sonics team that has lost six consecutive games coming into this contest, including a 90-70 rout at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.
Seattle has failed to cover the spread in four straight games while the Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games, thought they failed to cover against the Grizzlies.
