NBA Basketball Betting – Golden State at Dallas

The Golden State Warriors (19-13 SU, 16-16 ATS), who caught fire after a near-disastrous start, roll into the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night to tackle the Dallas Mavericks (20-11 SU, 13-17-1 ATS) in NBA action scheduled to tip off at 8:30 PM ET.

In the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds, the Mavs are listed at -5.5, with the total posted at 213 points.

In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA basketball betting trends:

* GS has covered the last five meetings

* GS has covered nine of the last ten meetings

* GS has won nine of the last 12 meetings SU

* GS has covered seven of the last eight meetings in Dallas

* GS has won five of the last seven meeting SU in Dallas

* Thirteen of the last 19 meetings have gone OVER the total

* Seven of the last eight meetings in Dallas have gone OVER the total

Golden State has averaged 108.5 points per game, second highest in the NBA. The 105.7 points per game Golden State scores on the road is also second in the circuit. The Warriors shoot 44.8% as a team, but have made 9.6 three-point shots a contest, tops in the league. They have surrendered 45.5% shooting to the opposition. Also:

* GS has covered four of its last five games

* GS has covered five of its last six road games

* DALL is 4-8-1 ATS in its last 13 home games

* DALL has played five of its last six home games UNDER the total

Golden State, of course, won last year's playoff series against Dallas in five games, in what was considered a huge upset. But should it have been? It is clear that from both a straight-up (9-3 SU last 12) and pointspread (9-1 ATS last 10) standpoint, the Warriors have been dominant over the Mavs. In boxing, it is generally said that styles make fights. In basketball, the same is often true, as evidenced by the interaction between Don Nelson's current team and his former team.

On November 8, Dallas got a measure of revenge, winning by a 120-115 score, but that was during a period when the Warriors were getting out of the gate very slowly. In fact, they lost their first six games, and have since won 19 of 26. More things have fallen into place for them personnel-wise, including the presence of Stephen Jackson (possibly their best defender) in the lineup. Baron Davis (22.3 ppg, 8.1 apg, 4.9 rpg) is making his best case for MVP, and Jackson is tallying 21.4 ppg per game. The Warriors have been going three-point crazy in recent games, with 38 made from beyond the arc in their last three contests. That, plus their style and their recent mastery over this foe, make Golden State, the 5.5-point dog in the BetUS NBA betting odds, our solid choice here.
