NBA Betting ‘Lock Alert’ – Bobcats at Cavaliers

The Charlotte Bobcats, (13-21 SU, 13-21 ATS, 16-18 O/U) are riding high after beating the New Jersey Nets and Boston Celtics in back-to-back contests this week, while covering the spread on each occasion.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, (18-18 SU, 15-21 ATS, 17-18-1 O/U) are looking to get back to their winning ways after getting ambushed by the blossoming Atlanta Hawks, 90-81 Wednesday night, ending their modest four-game winning streak.

As has been the case in most of the Cavaliers games this season, if LeBron James is not getting the job done for the Cavaliers, it’s not going to happen for James’ mostly mediocre teammates.

After shooting a collective 36.4 percent against the Hawks, the Cavaliers are looking to improve on their solid home record (11-6).

Charlotte (13-21) has yet to beat the Cavaliers at home, but has won two straight games over Cleveland, including a 96-93 home win on Dec. 8. Charlotte is also getting big time performances lately from shooting guard Jason Richardson and small forward Gerald Wallace.

Here is a look at tonight’s Key Trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Free Picks:

Key Bobcats Trends

The Bobcats are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The Bobcats are 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games overall.

Key Cavaliers Trends

The Cavaliers are 30-14 ATS in their last 44 games playing on one days rest.

The Cavaliers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

The Cavaliers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games vs. a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.

Key Totals Trends

The Over is 8-1 in Bobcats last nine games following a ATS win.

The Over is 4-1 in Bobcats last five games playing on one days rest.

The Under is 5-0-1 in Cavaliers last six games playing on one days rest.

The Under is 8-1-1 in Cavaliers last ten overall.

Key Head-to-Head Trends

The Road team is 7-3 ATS in the last ten meetings.

The Underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.

Analysis: This game is an absolute ‘no-brainer NBA bettors. The Charlotte Bobcats may have one of the worst records in the league at the moment, but at least they have several players who can put the ball in the hole on a consistent basis. The Cavaliers are struggling to give James any kind of offensive help and are nowhere near the defensive team they were last season. The Bobcats will cover this spread easily.
