NBA Basketball Betting – Dallas at Charlotte

The Dallas Mavericks (27-13 SU, 17-21-1 ATS) bring their fast-paced game to the Charlotte Bobcats Arena on Wednesday night as they square off against the Bobcats (16-25 SU, 17-23-1 ATS) in NBA action scheduled to tip off at 7 PM ET.

In the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds, the Mavs are listed at -7, with the total posted at 189 points.

In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA betting trends:

* DALL has won the last six meetings SU

* DALL has covered three of the last four meetings

* The last six meetings have gone UNDER the total

* DALL has had the shooting edge in five of the last six meetings

* DALL has had the rebounding edge in four of the last five meetings

Dallas averages 101.1 points per game on 47% shooting. The Mavs are shooting 82.2% from the free throw line, tops in the NBA. They turn the ball over just 12.6 times a game. Also:

* DALL is 1-3-1 ATS in its last five games

* DALL has won eight of its last 10 games SU

* DALL has played 14 of its last 19 games UNDER the total

* DALL has covered seven of its last 22 road games

* DALL has played eight of its last ten road games UNDER the total

Charlotte is the league's worst free throw shooting team, hitting just 70.2% from the line. The Bobcats have held opponents under 100 points 21 times on the season, and they come up with 7.7 steals a contest. Also:

* CHAR has covered seven of its last nine games

* CHAR has covered five of its last six home games

* CHAR has won four of its last six home games SU

Dallas had a nice run going through January 11, but recent road losses to Sacramento and Washington have left the Mavs with an 0-3-1 ATS mark in the last four. Meanwhile, Charlotte has fashioned itself sort of a giant killer. True, the Bobcats lost to San Antonio on Monday, but in that one Jason Richardson furnished the team's only two three-point field goals. In the last two weeks this team has managed wins over BostonDenver and Orlando, and taken Detroit and Cleveland into overtime, in the process covering seven of their last nine.

Richardson and Gerald Wallace (21.5 ppg) are demonstrating that they can play together; when one is off the other one seems to get hot, and sometimes they are both clicking. The young Charlotte club is keeping its head above water at home (14-12 SU) while Dallas is only 5-11 ATS this season when laying points on the road.

Since Charlotte has shown that it has the ability to play with the league's best, we think this impost is too large for Dallas to overcome. We're going to take the points with the Charlotte Bobcats, the 7-point underdogs in the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds.
