Basketball Betting - Heat (- 1.5) vs. Timberwolves (+ 1.5)
by D.S. Williamson
The Heat play the Wolves in, unless your NBA bettor, has about as much drama attached to it as a game between two competing junior high schools.
That’s how bad each of these teams is. The Heat just don’t care about winning any more. The T’Wolves just isn’t good enough to win games any more. By the way, how do you break up a team close to a championship - - Kevin McHale - - instead of building on it?
I’m just throwing that out there. In any case here are some trends for us to use in finding who wants to win this thing:
The Miami Heat are 9 and 4 against the spread in their last 13 games versus a team from the NBA Northwest Division.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are 10 and 30 against the spread in their 40 games on a Tuesday night.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are 6 and 18 in their last 24 games versus a team from the NBA Southeast.
There’s nothing to really say other than the trends point to the Heat covering the spread. I know, it sounds crazy since the Heat are only 8 and 26 straight-up. But the T’Wolves are 4 and 29 straight-up.
So, go figure, right? The Heat at least have Dwayne Wade, when he’s playing, on there team. Who do the T’Wolves have? That would be nobody. McHale sold the farm to get rid of Garnett. There is absolutely nobody on this T’Wolves team of note.
That means they win 10 games this season at most. Is another on the way tonight? I don’t think so because even though Shaquille O’Neal is doubtful tonight, the Heat are 10 and 9 against the spread on the road. That wouldn’t mean much if they were playing a team besides the T’Wolves. But they’re playing the T’Wolves.
The Heat look solid in this spot. They’ll have to try and lose in order for the T’Wolves to beat the spread in this game.
The BetUS line is Miami Heat – 1.5 against the spread on the road versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.
I like the Heat to cover that spread.
