The against the spread line is pretty high in this game, but after I write down some of the overall trends, this might turn out to be the wager of the night. The Hornets remain one of the best teams in the Western Conference. I think it is time for us to start believing in the squad in the New Orleans.

In any case here are those NBA betting trends:

The New Orleans Hornets are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games playing on 2 days of rest.

The New Orleans Hornets are 4 and 1 against the spread in their last 5 games when their opponents score 100 points or more in their previous game.

The FAVORITE is 9 and 2 against the spread in the last 11 games between these two teams.

New Orleans is the better team, at home, with more to lose than the Supersonics. I don’t see the Sonics having much of a chance in this game straight-up.

Nor do I see the Sonics getting close. Other than that crazy loss versus the Los Angeles Lakers last Friday, where the Hornets were beat by 29 points, it has been business as usual for the Hornets.

They beat the Miami Heat by 26 points and then beat the Houston Rockets by 5. They are playing close games versus teams that are near their talent level and destroying teams that aren’t close to them in terms of talent.

The Seattle Supersonics aren’t close to the Hornets in terms of talent.
