NBA Wagering – Expect High-Scoring Affair between Warriors and Grizzlies
by Eric Williams
The Golden State Warriors, (13-10 SU, 11-12 ATS, 12-11 O/U), had split their last four contests prior to last night’s embarrassing 109-87 loss to the Detroit Pistons, losing road contests last week to the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trailblazers but beating the defending champion San Antonio Spurs last Tuesday 96-84 and the Lakers on Friday, 108-106.
The Warriors are ranked second in scoring, averaging a whopping 108.1 points per game, but are ranked dead-last in defense, giving up a league-high 107.0 points per contest.
Despite being the owners of a mediocre 7-16 record, the Memphis Grizzlies, (7-16 SU, 12-10-1 ATS, 12-11 O/U), have been one of the best teams in the league this season both, against the spread (ATS) and straight up (SU).
On the court however, the Grizzlies have been pretty pathetic in compiling their dismal 7-16 record. Memphis is ranked 10th in ATS statistics at 12-10-1 but has been a disappointment in rookie head coach Marc Iavaroni’s first season.
Despite the fact that the Grizzlies own the league’s eighth best offense, averaging 103.5 points per game, Memphis’ young players couldn’t stop running water if they tried, checking in just before the Warriors in defense at 29th, allowing a staggering 105.8 points per game to their opponents.

Analysis: After getting routed by the Pistons last night, it’s hard to gauge which Golden State team will show up tonight in Memphis – the one that plays very little defense – or the team that plays absolutely none whatsoever. Either way, I’m smelling a ‘cover’ for the Grizzlies here if not the outright win. Take the Grizzlies and the points to cover against the Warrior tonight.
