NBA Betting - Washington Wizards (+ 11.5) vs. Boston Celtics (- 11.5)

The Wizards beat Boston straight-up on January 12th. That was Boston’s 5th loss in their last 35 games. Pretty impressive, but to us NBA bettors we need to know if two-days rest is going to be enough for the Celtics to not only get back to their straight-up winning ways but to their against the spread winning ways.
Unfortunately, trends point to both teams doing very, very well tonight:
The Boston Celtics are 6 and 0 against the spread in their last 6 games after a straight-up loss.
The Boston Celtics are 6-1-1 against the spread in their last 8 games following an against the spread loss.
The Washington Wizards are 7 and 0 against the spread in their last 7 games versus a team from the NBA Atlantic Division.
The Washington Wizards are 4 and 0 against the spread in their last 4 road games.
The Celtics are probably the best defensive team in the NBA right now. They preach team defense and play it better than anybody. But this Washington Wizards team is different than last year’s.
Last year’s Wizards’ team ran up and down the court like the Phoenix Suns. They wanted to get into high-scoring games. This year the Wizards are a much more adaptable team. They can play fast or slow. They can set up their shooters off of screens or slam-dunk.
They are also hot against the spread having gone 7 and 2 in their last 9 games. That’s pretty good.
The Celtics have been phenomenal in winning straight-up, but as the year has gone on, and the spreads have increased, the Celtics have started to lose against the spread with regularity. In their last six games Boston has gone 2 and 4 against the spread.
Tonight the Celtics have to deal with an 11.5 point spread.
