NBA Basketball Betting – Chicago at Washington

by Charles Jay

The Chicago Bulls (8-14 SU, 7-15 ATS), who have not shot the ball well all season, travel to the Verizon Center in Washington, DC to take on the Washington Wizards (13-10 SU, 15-8 ATS) in an NBA clash that tips off at 7 PM ET.

In the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds, the Wizards are a five-point favorite, with the total listed at 192 points.

In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA basketball betting trends:

* CHI has covered six of the last nine meetings

* CHI has won four of the last five meetings SU

* WASH has won 13 of the last 15 meetings SU at home

* Eight of the last 11 meetings at Washington have gone UNDER the total

Chicago is shooting just 41.3% from the floor, which is last in the NBA, and is 28th in the league with 92 points per game. The Bulls do not have a lot of "home run power," hitting just five 3-point shots per contest. Also:

* CHI has covered one of its last five games

* CHI has played four of its last six games OVER the total

* CHI is 3-8 SU and ATS in its 11 road games

Washington has been playing without its biggest star, Gilbert Arenas, since early in the season. The Wizards have won four games in a row, and have held their last four opponents to 91 points or less. Washington has made nine 3-pointers in each of its last three games. Also:

* WASH has covered seven of its last eight games

* WASH has won six of its last seven games SU

* WASH has played four unders in its last five games

* WASH has won and covered five of its last six home games

The Bulls are coming off a highly-charged revenge game against the Lakers on Tuesday night, even though they did not get the win. Now they travel to Washington to face a team that is very formidable in its own building (the Verizon Center). The Wizards have covered eight of nine as a home favorite thus far, as well as 14 of their last 18 games overall, and that is sizzling. Chicago, meanwhile, is 0-5 against the spread in the back end of back-to-back games. Coach Scott Skiles is making very few effective adjustments, and he is getting less than dominant play from Ben Wallace (less than nine rebounds a game).

Washington doesn't seem to have had a problem transitioning from a "Big 3" attack to a "Big 2" attack. Since losing Gilbert Arenas early in the season, the team has managed to play relatively effectively with 20-point scorers Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison. Washington also has a couple of shot blockers in Brendan Haywood and Andray Blatche, who are hovering around two rejections per game.

We are going to lay the points with the Wizards, the five-point favorite in the BetUS NBA betting odds.
