NBA Basketball Betting – Charlotte at LA Clippers

WHO: Charlotte Bobcats (17-27 SU, 18-25-1 ATS) at Los Angeles Clippers (13-27 SU, 18-22 ATS)

WHERE: Staples Center in Los Angeles

WHEN: Monday, January 28 at 10:30 PM

BetUS NBA basketball betting odds: LA CLIPPERS -2.5, TOTAL 190

In the HEAD-to-HEAD NBA betting trends:

* LA has won six of the seven meetings

* LA has covered three of the last five meetings

* LA has had the rebounding edge in five of the last seven meetings

* LA has made more three-pointers in three of the last four meetings

Charlotte is the worst free throw shooting team in the NBA, at 70.6%. The Bobcats get 7.5 steals a game, and turn it over 14.3 times a game. Also:

* CHAR has lost four of its last six games SU

* CHAR has covered two of its last six games

* CHAR has covered eight of its last 12 games

* CHAR has covered three of its last four road games

The Clippers are shooting 43.5% from the field, which is 28th in the NBA. They hit only 4.4 three-pointers a game, and are also 77.9% from the foul line. Opponents shoot 45.2% against the Clips. Also:

* LA has won three of its last 11 games SU

* LA has covered four of its last five home games

* LA has played four of its last five games OVER the total

* LA has played four of its last six home games OVER the total

The Bobcats have been moving right along in the fourth NBA season. They have bonafide scoring in Gerald Wallace and Jason Richardson, and genuine defense and rebounding out of Emeka Okafor, and improved floor leadership from Raymond Falton. But Saturday's 103-96 home loss to Philadelphia may be a sign that Charlotte is cooling off a bit. Meanwhile, it's not liking we're seeing a revival on the part of the Clippers, but they have shot better than their season average in each of their last five games. In the Saturday loss to Memphis, they hit 52.4% from the field.

Los Angeles has also covered four of its last five home games, indicating that if the Staples Center is not a stronghold, at least it's not a liability, as it seemed to be when the Clippers went through a streak of covering just two of 11 at home. Right now Felton is day-to-day with a sore ankle, while Clippers' center Chris Kaman sat out the last game in Memphis with a shin injury.

But dissension may hurt the Bobcats more. Coach Sam Vincent feels Jeff McInnis is so limited at point guard in place of Felton that "Now you’re playing four on five."

He added, ""The coaching staff cares an awful lot about winning, but the guys on the floor have to care about winning more than the coaching staff." the players are not happy, and thus we have the beginnings of some internal strife.

We'll lay the points with the Clippers, the 2.5-point favorite in the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds.
