NBA Wagering – Detroit at San Antonio
By Eric Williams
After ripping off 11 straight wins, the Detroit Pistons, (26-8 SU, 23-10-1 ATS, 15-19 O/U) have suffered back-to-back losses in their last two contests while failing to cover the spread in either game.
First, the Pistons had their 11-game winning streak snapped by the Boston Celtics, before dropping last night’s matchup against the Dallas Mavericks 102-86 in a game that was never close.
The defending champion San Antonio Spurs, (23-10 SU, 16-16-1 ATS, 15-18 O/U) are just 2-2 in their last four games, including a 130-121 overtime loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday. More importantly for bettors, the Spurs have failed to cover the spread in any of their last four contests.
The Pistons and Spurs are ranked second and third respectively in defense, with the Pistons allowing just 89.7 points per game on 43.6 percent shooting from the field while the Spurs are giving up 92.5 points per game on 45.7 percent shooting from the field.

The Under is 4-0 in Pistons last four vs. Western Conference.
The Under is 5-1 in Spurs last six Thursday games.
The Under is 4-1 in Spurs last five vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
Key Head-to-Head Trends
The Under is 4-1 in the last five meetings.

The Road team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings.
Analysis: While the Spurs are 17-2 at home this season, the Pistons are 13-6 on the road this season and should be more than ready to end their losing streak. I like the Pistons to hand the Spurs their third home loss of the season tonight while getting back to their winning ways.
The best bet in this contest though may be the ‘Under’ with each team’s outstanding defense.
