Bet On Baseball - Colorado Rockies vs. Boston Red Sox
By BetUS Staff
The stage is set for this year's World Series between the Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox, and we have the MLB betting communities winning series selection.
Born as an expansion team in 1993, the Rockies will appear in the World Series for the first time in team's history having won an astonishing 21 of its last 22 games.
Before this season, the Rockies had just one postseason victory, back in 1995, when they were eliminated by the Atlanta Braves in the first round.
They are the first team since the 1935 Chicago Cubs to win at least 21-of-22 after Sept. 1.
Colorado downed the Philadelphia Phillies as the series underdogs in a three-game sweep in the NLDS and went on to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in four games to claim the NLCS as the slight favorites, also in sweeping fashion.
The Rockies went 2-1 against Boston this season, outscoring the Red Sox 20-5 in a June series at Fenway Park.
Colorado will send ace left-hander Jeff Francis to the mound in Game 1. The Vancouver, Canada native takes a strong 17-9 record to the hill with an ERA of 4.22.
This will be his second career appearance versus Boston. In his only other outing, Francis threw five innings of seven hit ball in a shutout at Fenway Park in June of this year.
Francis is 2-0 in the postseason with a 2.13 ERA, starts the opener on 12 days' rest.
The Red Sox will counter with ace right-hander Joch Beckett, who's 20-7 on the year with an ERA of 3.27.
Beckett has faced Colorado six times in his career for a record of 4-1 with an ERA of 3.89. In his most recent appearance against Colorado, he was roughed up for six runs and 10 hits in his first loss in 2007.
Beckett is 3-0 with a 1.17 ERA in three playoff games, will be pitching with five days' rest.

Analyst: MLB odds list Boston the favorites of -235 to win the Fall Classic. There's great value on Colorado at +185, especially considering the Rockies have won an astonishing 21-of-22 games.
Colorado has won twelve consecutive road games and if they can take just one game at Fenway in the first two, the Rockies would then claim home field advantage before going back to Coors Field.
Colorado is hitting a decent .261 off righties and they are 10-1 in their last eleven road games against right-handed starters. The wild-card Rockies record eight days off will not be a factor. Look for the Rockies to bark as very lively underdogs.
