Tennis Prediction: This is the first-ever meeting between No.17 Marcos Baghdatis and No.111 Roby Ginepri. Disadvantaged on the money line, Ginepri –the home crowd favorite – at +180 holds value and not only because he enjoys the edge on home turf, but because he has enjoyed success in his past two home events. In both Delray Beach and San Jose, Ginepri made appearances in the semifinal, beating higher ranked players en route to the final four on both occasions. Ginepri is clearly comfortable in front of a partisan crowd, and as he has converted on this advantage before, taking his +180 underdog odds to replicate his prior two performances is worth the risk.
No.17 Marcos Baghdatis is a crowd favorite almost wherever he goes, drawing large groups of fans. Invariably he holds a home-court like advantage in many tournaments. Baghdatis is making his first appearance in Las Vegas, and in the first round topped veteran American Vincent Spadea – the 2004 Las Vegas titlist— in just 70 minutes. Baghdatis has seesawed this season, but if his opening round match were an indication, he could be quickly finding his form. Favored for the win at -240, Baghdatis is typically a good bet, but a first round exit to Robin Soderling in Rotterdam two weeks ago, has shown he is susceptible to the upset.

The Latvian teenager is a promising talent and at -190 favorite odds, he is the better play in this matchup. Qualifier Peter Luczak defeated up-and-coming Zverev in the first round; the veteran player could prove to surprise once again.
