AFL Football Betting Free Picks - Utah Blaze vs Philadelphia Soul

The Blaze will look to turn their season around Saturday evening when they take their 0-5 SU mark with them to the Wachovia Center to take on the undefeated Philadelphia Soul. Head Coach Danny White abandoned his roots in practice this past week to help loosen his roster up. The team’s been playing way too tight throughout their first five games hoping not to make a mistake instead of playing loose like they did throughout most of their 2007 campaign. They’ve been competitive in all their defeats this season up until last week’s game at home against Georgia where they fell by a 70-49 final count as three-point favorites. They’re 0-2 SU and 1-0-1 ATS in their two road games this season. The only negative to occur for Philadelphia this season was in their Week 4 match-up with the division rival NY Dragons when starting QB Tony Graziani went down with a leg injury. However, the Soul’s front office was better prepared this time around if their superstar QB went down. The signing of former Chicago QB Matt D’Orazio just might have been the best acquisition made by any team this past off-season. The Soul’s 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS with D’Roz at the helm.

Utah only trailed Georgia 35-28 at the half of last week’s game, but their high-octane offense got shutout in the 3rd quarter to allow the Force to pull away for the road win and cover. QB Joe Germaine threw for a whopping 356 yards and 7 TDs on 31-of-48 passing, but the offense failed to convert on three of their four 4th down attempts allowing the Force to build upon its lead with the Blaze going scoreless on those three possessions.

Philadelphia partook in a war last week against Tampa Bay. They held a two-point lead at the break (25-23), and held that same lead at 39-37 heading into the final stanza. Philly increased its lead to 59-51 with 38 seconds left, and held on for the win when Tampa Bay QB Brett Dietz’ hailmary pass fell incomplete as time expired. QB Matt D’Orazio ended up 25-of-35 for 296 yards and 7 TDs. WR’s Larry Brackens and Chris Jackson combined to haul in six TD receptions, and the defense won the turnover battle recovering a pair of Tampa fumbles. It did however surrender 400 passing yards, which should have Head Coach Brett Munsey a bit nervous with Utah’s potent attack coming to town.

This will be the first ever meeting between these two franchises.

The Soul’s been tagged lofty 17-point home favorites in this match-up with the ‘total’ set at 120 points. You can get down on both the ‘side’ and ‘total’ of what should be a very entertaining game at BetUS.com right now!!!
