AFL Arena Football Betting – Orlando vs. Georgia
By Mike Rose
Southern Division and online AFL betting action heats up Saturday night at the Gwinnett Arena when the (5-2) Orlando Predators square off against the (3-3) Georgia Force. Orlando come into this game hot winners of five in a row, while Georgia won two in a row before partaking in their bye last week. The Preds currently sit atop the Southern Division with New Orleans with Georgia trailing the leaders by two games.
Orlando picked up a decisive road win and cover last week at Grand Rapids as 3.5-point road favorites. They covered the chalk easily in the 75-56 final, and the combined 131-points soared over the closing ‘total’ of 115. They held a 13-7 lead after the first quarter, but then blew up in the 2nd quarter outscoring the Rampage 34-14. They dominated the 3rd quarter as well, and still won by 19-points even though they were outscored 21-0 in the 4th quarter. QB Shane Stafford didn’t play much in the second half, but his stat line was still mighty impressive. He completed 14-of-16 passes for 203 yards and threw four TD passes with no INT’s. WR T.T. Toliver had another monster game hauling in 12 receptions for 181 yards and three TDs. He also tore apart Grand Rapids defense on the ground rushing two times for 29 yards and a score. All in all, the Predators outgained the Rampage 384-260 and they won the turnover battle by a 3:1 count. The offense has looked tremendous throughout their first seven games of the season, and will no doubt continue to smash Predator records as the season progresses.
Georgia got to lick its wounds the last couple weeks, but there’s no doubt Head Coach Doug Plank and his staff worked overtime trying to find an edge for this match-up. They got the best of both Utah and Kansas City the last two weeks after getting ripped off in “The Jungle” in Week 4.
Orlando got the best of them in the aforementioned game, but the win didn’t come without controversy. That said, what’s done is done and the Force will bring their “A” game looking to even up the season series at a game apiece. Georgia is 9-5 SU and 8-6 ATS in its series history with the Predators. They’re 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS the last four times they’ve hosted the Preds, and 11-2 SU their L/13 overall home games. With Georgia foaming at the mouth looking to avenge the Week 4 robbery, and the fact that the I-4 showdown is on tap for Orlando next week, look for the Force to pull out the hard fought victory and get back into the Southern Division mix in the process.
This game opened at a pick ‘em with the ‘total’ set at 113, but Georgia now sits a 1-1.5-point home chalk with the ‘total’ bet down to its current position of 111. You can get down on both the ‘side’ and ‘total’ at BetUS.com right now!
