Daily Double
The daily double involves picking the winning horse in two consecutive races. All tracks offer the early daily double which involves races #1 and #2. Most tracks also offer a late daily double which is the last two races of the day. Some tracks also offer a rolling daily double which is on any two consecutive races. To win a daily double you must pick the winning horse in each of the two specified races. Multiple combinations can be used when playing the double. Wheeling and keying horses in any leg of the daily is accepted. For example, you can wager on the 1,2,3 horse in the first race along with 2,3 in the second.
Pick 3
To win a Pick 3 bet you are required to select the winning horse in three consecutive races. Many tracks offer the pick 3 and most even offer a rolling pick 3.
Let's assume you wagered a Pick 3 at Saratoga Park on races 2, 3, and 4. If you wagered on the 1 horse in each race, your wager would look like this.
Race 2 - Horse 1 to win
Race 3 - Horse 1 to win
Race 4 - Horse 1 to win
In order for you to win a Pick 3 wager , all 3 of your horses must win their individual race.
If the Pick 3 result for all 3 races is 1-1-1, you would be a winner.
If any leg of the Pick 3 is not a 1 horse, you ticket would be consider a loss.
An exception to this rule would be if one of your horses was scratched. In this case you automatically receive the post time favorite in place of your scratch.
You can use more then one entry in your Pick 3 ticket.
For example you could wager 1-2/2/3-4-5
This would mean in Race 2 from the example above, if the 1 or 2 horse won, you would still be alive in the pick 3. So if you were alive going into the 4th race you would need horses 3, 4 or 5 for you to win your Pick 3 ticket.
Pick 4
To win a Pick 4 bet you are required to select the winning horse in four consecutive races. Most tracks offer the pick 4.
Let's assume you wagered a Pick 4 at Saratoga Park on races 2, 3, 4 and 5. If you wagered on the 1 horse in each race, your wager would look like this.
Race 2 - Horse 1 to win
Race 3 - Horse 1 to win
Race 4 - Horse 1 to win
Race 5 - Horse 1 to win
In order for you to win a Pick 4 wager , all 4 of your horses must win their individual race.
Pick 6
To win a Pick 6 bet you are required to select the winning horse in six consecutive races. Most tracks offer the Pick 6.
Let's assume you wagered a Pick 4 at Saratoga Park on races 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. If you wagered on the 1 horse in each race, your wager would look like this.
Race 2 - Horse 1
Race 3 - Horse 1
Race 4 - Horse 1
Race 5 - Horse 1
Race 6 - Horse 1
Race 7 - Horse 1
In order for you to win the pick 6, your horses must win each leg of the race.
