The first ever Las Vegas Bowl kicked off on Dec. 18, 1992, and this season features BYU, the winners of the MWC conference, against the # 4 from the Pac-10. For a decade the game was known primarily as the first bowl game of the year, an honor now belonging to the Poinsettia Bowl. The first-ever Division I-A overtime game took place at the 1995 Las Vegas Bowl when Toledo outlasted Nevada 40-37. St. Louis Rams star running back Steven Jackson was the Bowl’s MVP in 2003.
