College Basketball Betting- Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin Badgers - NCAA Basketball Betting
The Wisconsin Badgers have had some pretty good basketball teams in recent years.
In 2000, UW made it to its first Final Four since World War II. In both 2004 and '05, the Badgers won 25 games. This season, with four starters back from a team that went 19-12 but got bombed in the first round of the NCAA tournament by Arizona, Wisconsin may have the best team in the history of the program.
The Badgers were picked by most “experts” to finish second in the Big 10 this season, behind only Ohio State. Wisconsin started 4-0, then got beat by Missouri State, then won 17 in a row over the likes of Florida State, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Georgia and Winthrop.
Wisconsin isn't flashy, or loud, or necessarily overwhelming. They just do a lot of things, especially the fundamentals, very well.
Six-six senior forward Alando Tucker leads the way. His game isn't pretty. In fact, at times, it looks like he's making it up as he goes. Tucker leads the team in scoring by hitting clutch shots and tough shots with regularity.
Fellow senior Kammron Taylor ranks second on the team in scoring. Junior guard Michael Flowers, a good rebounder and defender, leads the team in assists. Sophomore forward Marcus Landry leads the Badgers in steals and blocked shots. And 6-11 junior forward Brian Butch paces the team on the boards.
One of the few weak links in Wisconsin's game is its 3-point shooting, but freshman Jason Bohannon, an Iowa Mr. Basketball, came on around midseason to provide the Badgers with a boost in just that area.
In seasons past, despite having some pretty good teams, Wisconsin always seemed to struggle on the road. Trips to Illinois and Iowa, among other regular Big 10 stops, usually resulted in defeats, but this UW team beat the Illini in Champaign, and the Hawkyes in Iowa City.
Wisconsin has now been invited to the Big Dance nine straight seasons, but just going to the ball isn't enough this season. A Sweet 16 berth is fully expected, and the Final Four is not out of the question. This is a very good college basketball team.
Alando Tucker – Senior leader who takes the big shots.
Kammron Taylor – Has more help at guard this season.
Jason Bohannon – Freshman sharpshooter could be a key to tournament success.
