UTEP Miners - NCAA Basketball Betting

After suffering through a dismal 14-17 season and 6-10 mark in Conference USA play in head coach Tony Barbee’s first season in 2006-07, the University of Texas El Paso has bounced back with a solid season this year.

The Miners are currently 17-12 overall and 8-8 in Conference USA games and are averaging a whopping 77.3 points per game, (35th) while making 43.5 percent of their field goals, (200th), and 32.4 percent of their three-point tries, (279th).

As prolific as UTEP’s offense has been this season, the team’s defense has been just as pathetic, allowing 72.9 points per contest, (267th) though they are holding opponents to a mediocre 41.2 percent shooting mark from the field, (59th) and 33.6 percent from three-point distance, (95th).

The Miners have three players averaging double figures in scoring this season, led by junior guard Stefon Jackson, (24.3 ppg).
