Things are looking up for the Toronto Raptors after an impressive 2006-07 season that saw the team win 47 games – and the Atlantic division title.

Toronto improved its record by 20 games last season by adding several players to the roster who are now viewed as crucial in the franchises’ future plans.

Point guard T.J. Ford and athletic swingman Anthony Parker joined European stars, Jorge Garbajosa and number one overall draft pick, Andrea Bargnani to form a well-balanced core of players that meshed well around the team’s resident superstar, power forward Chris Bosh.

Bosh has taken his game to dizzying new heights and seems to reach a new plateau with each passing season but will need even more help from the team’s role players if the Raptors are to surpass more of their opponents in 2007-08. The Raptors may be up to the task however with the addition of sharpshooter Jason Kapono and the expected improvement in play from Bargnani and guard Jose Calderon in particular.

Veterans, Juan Dixon, and recently acquired Carlos Delfino will backup up at the guard positions while underachieving center Rasho Nesterovic will come off the bench to use his height – and six fouls.

Head coach Sam Mitchell won the NBA Coach of the Year award last season, and rightfully so, after his masterful guidance of the Raptors last season earned the team a spot in the postseason and a new contract for Mitchell. Even though a tougher road for success lies ahead for the Raptors in 2007-08, the future is undeniably, looking bright.
