It's time to crank it up for some NASCAR betting odds and Saturday evening's Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway (7:45pm EST) for one last dance to determine who's invited to the Chase for the Cup. Its race 26-of-36 on the Sprint Cup circuit and the NASCAR betting intensity will be thick enough to cut with a knife, as six drivers attempt to boogey their way into the Sprint Cup's 10-race postseason jam.
Having their all-access backstage tickets already punched for the Chase are points leader Kyle Busch, who's BetUS NASCAR odds favorite at +500 to win on Saturday, and second-place Carl Edwards. Busch has a series-best eight victories and will start the Chase as the No. 1 seed with at least 80 bonus points in his pocket entering the final event.
Edwards has a series second-best six victories but only 50 bonus points heading into Saturday's race because NASCAR docked him 10 points when his race-winning car failed inspection at Las Vegas on March 2 in the UAW-Dodge 400.
Last week's winner as one of the NASCAR wagering favorites at Fontana, and two-time defending champion Jimmie Johnson, teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Burton and Greg Biffle (who only needs to start the race on Saturday) also locked up Chase spots last week, rounding out the top-six in points, respectively, and half of the 12-driver field guaranteed eligibility to claim the 2008 Sprint Cup championship.
The remaining six spots will be decided in Richmond. Drivers seventh through 12th, who can't miss a note in Saturday's Chevy Rock & Roll 400 or they could be singing the blues, are Kevin Harvick, former champions Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth and Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer.
