Outlook: The Milwaukee Brewers stayed in contention to win the NL Central crown into the final week of the regular while setting a franchise attendance record for attendance and enter the 2008 season with raised expectations.

Prince Fielder hit 50 homer runs last season and Ryan Braun won the NL Rookie of the Year award after hitting .324 with 34 home runs and 97 RBI. Veteran outfielder Mike Cameron will add speed and defense this season – in May - when he returns from a suspension for failing baseball's amphetamines test.

Second baseman Rickie Weeks, needs to improve on his .235 batting average in 118 games last season but the Brewers have capable hitters in third baseman Bill Hall, shortstop J.J. Hardy and right fielder Corey Hart, though the club could stand to be better defensively this season.

The Brewers have a legitimate ace in right-hander Ben Sheets but Sheets gets injured every season like clockwork. Veteran Jeff Suppan, (12-12, 4.62 ERA), Dave Bush, (12-10, 5.12 ERA), Carlos Villanueva, (8-5, 3.94 ERA), and Manny Parra will fill out the starting rotation.

Milwaukee could have problems out of the bullpen this season. The Brewers are counting on an aging Eric Gange as their closer, followed by the mediocre likes of hurlers, Derrick Turnbow, David Riske, Salomon Torres and Guillermo Mota.

After losing Yovani Gallardo and Chris Capuano to injury, the bullpen will be average bullpen at best in 2008.
