Preakness Stakes - Big Brown Set to Dominate On Saturday

by D.S Williamson

I wrote an article the other day highlighting some reasons why Big Brown could lose the Preakness Stakes. I thought that most of those reasons were valid. But I wouldn’t be doing justice to the horse if I didn’t lay out the reasons why Big Brown will dominate the Preakness Stakes this coming Saturday in online betting action.

I’m just the messenger here, friends! I suggest that anybody who does believe in Richard Dutrow’s charge take these reasons to the bank and jump on Big Brown right now at the BetUS online betting odds of 1 to 3. Yes, those are awfully low odds on a horse in what amounts to just another race, but there is no way that any one of us is going to get anything close to those odds come Preakness day. Big Brown is going to be a massive favorite - - I’m thinking the biggest sports betting favorite in Preakness history - - and that means that taking the 1 to 3 on the Kentucky Derby winner is the smartest thing to do.

That is if you truly believe he is unbeatable this Saturday.

Reasons Big Brown Will Not Lose the Preakness Stakes

1. He’s the fastest horse in the Preakness - - Yes, I know. It’s sort of a stupid reason. The online racebook says that he is the fastest horse because they made him the 1 to 3 chalk. Well, there’s fast and then there’s fast. By saying that Big Brown is the fastest horse we’re saying that even if Tres Borrachos goes out there winging and daring Big Brown to keep up with him, Brown will do it. I could see the first quarter in the Preakness going off at around 21 or 22 seconds. That would make the half around 44 or 45 seconds. Yes, I do believe that Tres Borrachos will go that fast in this thing. Can Big Brown do it? If he’s as good as everybody says he is then he won’t have a problem negotiating a 45 half and holding off the closers.

2. He’s destined to win the Triple Crown - - It’s been thirty years since a horse won the Triple Crown. I usually don’t believe in destiny but if there ever was a sport that online gamblers could make wagers on that proved the existence of destiny, its horse racing. Horse racing is about as old as anything in the United States. Things tend to work out for some reason and history tends to repeat itself in this sport. I don’t know why, but it does. Maybe Big Brown is that good and maybe it is time for another Triple Crown winner.

3. His competition is horrid - - It’s hard to defend a horse like Macho Again, who has the closest speed rating to Big Brown’s Kentucky Derby, when the fella has won only three out of eight races. It’s not like Macho Again has been running against the best that the 3-year old division has to offer, right? Same with Kentucky Bear whose best race was his maiden score in January. Giant Moon has won 4 out of 6 races, but he lost a race this year by 47 lengths. Sometimes online racebook fans need to just suck it up and say what’s obvious - - the best horse, Big Brown in this case, will win the race.

4. His feet are fine - - His soft feet aren’t soft at all. He’s fine as evidenced by his gallops in the morning and the fact that Richard Dutrow has so much faith in him. Unless he develops a quarter-crack right before the race, this guy is gone. He should win the Preakness by about 15 lengths as it is so bad feet won’t do him in. That just means he wins by 4 lengths.

There you go my fellow BetUS online racebook fans - - four legitimate reasons why Big Brown will not lose the Preakness Stakes. I haven’t decided if I’m gong to try and beat the big colt just yet, but I will say that the more I look at the racing form, the more I’m inclined to take a stand against him.

In any case if you agree with what I’ve laid out above, then log onto the BetUS online sportsbook, click onto the online racebook page and please take the 1 to 3 betting odds on Big Brown to win the Preakness.

There’s no way you’re going to get better odds on Preakness day.

Good luck!
