Ron Artest has admitted that some of the hurts he has sustained in the second half of the season would not be enough to keep him on the sidelines if Sacramento had been in the playoff mix. That's obviously not a winner talking, but the fact is that when he is in the lineup he makes the Kings more difficult to beat. And let's not make believe he's alone in his attitude.
Washington's season has been so up-and-down, but right now it looks like the Wizards are coming along; they had a lapse in an awful 20-point loss at Portland (where they shot 36%), but there was also a win at Orlando, and nine covers in the last 12 away from home. Washington has been pretty tough defensively, holding four of its last five opponents under 100 points and three of them to 86 points or less.
One disappointment for the Wizards is that Gilbert Arenas, who was hoping to return to the lineup, has not yet been cleared to play. That's a bummer, and Antawn Jamison is zero for his last 12 shots from three-point range. Caron Butler has returned from injury, but he's not consistently putting up big numbers. Artest has averaged 22.4 ppg in his last seven games, and Brad Miller, who is also back playing again, had 17 rebounds last time out. When healthy, the Kings are competitive.
In a close call, we'll lay the points with Sacramento, the 2.5-point favorite in the BetUS NBA basketball betting odds.
