MLB Baseball Betting Action – Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers
by Eric Williams
After snapping their four-game losing streak in the BetUS Sportsbook on Thursday night, beating the Chicago Cubs 4-2, the Colorado Rockies, (10-12, 12-10 O/U) come into tonight’s matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers, (9-13, 11-10-1 O/U) looking to continue their domination over their NL West counterparts.
The Rockies will try to extend their seven-game winning streak against the Dodgers when the teams open a three-game series tonight.

"A lot of things are going right for them," said Dodgers outfielder Juan Pierre. "It's a good makeup over there. They've had a lot of young guys they stood by and they let them grow. And now they're reaping the benefits."
The Rockies will send out struggling right-handed starter Ubaldo Jimenez (1-2, 4.64), to face Dodgers starter Hiroki Kuroda (1-2, 2.92 ERA). Despite their identical 1-2 records, Jimenez has struggled mightily while Kuroda has been victimized by poor run support.
Jimenez has walked a whopping 17 batters in just 21 1/3 innings over four starts and allowed five walks and three runs in 5 2/3 innings of Colorado's 6-4 loss at Houston on Sunday.
The right-handed Kuroda has been solid since coming over from Japan this offseason and limited the Atlanta Braves to just two runs in six innings in Sunday’s 6-1 defeat.
"He pitched well enough to win," Dodgers manager Joe Torre said. "He gave us a chance to win."
Rockies manager Clint Hurdle named reliever Brian Fuentes the team’s new closer, replacing the struggling Manny Corpas, who replaced Fuentes in the same role just last summer. Corpas has blown four saves in eight chances.
"I've watched a volume of work. Take it from there. It's apparent to me that we need to shuffle the deck," Hurdle said. "We are seeing the inconsistencies. You need to find a way to help (Corpas)."
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends followed by my MLB Betting Picks.
The Rockies are 4-1 in Jimenez’s last five starts vs. National League West.
The Rockies are 4-1 in Jimenez’s last five starts with four days of rest.
The Dodgers are 7-1 in their last eight games as a favorite of -151 to -200.
The Dodgers are 5-1 in their last six games with the total set at 7.0-8.5.
The Under is 7-1 in Jimenez’s last eight starts overall.
The Under is 7-1 in Jimenez’s last eight starts on grass.
The Under is 5-1-1 in Dodgers last seven vs. a team with a losing record.
The Over is 4-1 in Dodgers last five home games vs. a right-handed starter.
Analysis: Simply put, take the Dodgers and Kuroda to pick up a convincing victory over the Rockies and mediocre starter Ubaldo Jimenez who has yet to straighten out his immense control problems.
