MLB Baseball Betting - Brewers vs. Red Sox
by D.S Williamson
The Boston Red Sox will look to avoid losing their fifth sports betting game in a row when they host the Milwaukee Brewers. The Red Sox send superstar pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka to the mound. Dice-K has been brilliant so far this season. His ERA is a terrific 2.45. His win/loss record is 6 and 0. Even though this is an online betting interleague game, the Red Sox need to win. Losing five in a row is not good for either the BoSox or those online baseball betting fans who like to make wagers on them.
The Brewers counter with Jeff Suppan who actually has been alright so far this season. The Brewers could use a win as well since they have dropped their last two games against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Suppan has an ERA of 4.63 and a record of 2 and 2. He will find that stellar Boston Red Sox line-up somewhat different to pitch to then the teams he’s been facing in the National League.
Here are the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds for this game:
Jeff Suppan – R + 1 ½ + 105 + 210 O 9 ½ - 110
Daisuke Matsuzaka – R - 1 ½ - 125 - 250 U 9 ½ - 110
Here are a few online MLB betting trends that might help us find a good wager in this game:
The Milwaukee Brewers are 4 and 1 in their last 5 interleague games on the road.
The Milwaukee Brewers are 0 and 7 in Jeff Suppan’s last 7 starts on the road versus a team with a winning record.
The Boston Red Sox are 41 and 10 in their last 51 interleague games.
The Boston Red Sox are 14 and 3 in Dice-K’s last 17 starts.
The Boston Red Sox are 4 and 1 in Dice-K’s last 5 interleague starts.
This is a strange game as those brave enough can not only get Jeff Suppan at plus sports betting odds but they can also get Suppan at + 1 ½ runs.
That hardly ever happens and it’s almost enough for me to take it, but I just can’t. Dice-K and the Boston Red Sox are too tough for the Milwaukee Brewers in this game. The Brew-Crew doesn’t have much of a shot to win this thing outright.
That means that I have to look elsewhere. The only viable wager that I see is on the BetUS over/under of 9 ½ runs. Betting the over is asking too much, but the under actually looks very good. The Brewers won’t score a lot of runs versus Dice-K and I doubt that the Red Sox will blow the Brewers out by more then five or six runs.
That’s where I’m going. I’m going to make an online betting wager on the game between the Boston Red Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers to go under 9 ½ runs.
