Florida Marlins @ Tampa Bay Rays
The two biggest surprises in the baseball season have come from Florida.
The Florida Marlins are ahead of the New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves in the National League East, and have been leading the division for most of the season.
The Tampa Bay Rays have been atop of the Major Leagues throughout the whole season until a recent. The Rays haven’t finished better than fourth in the American League East in any of their years of existence.
Now the battle for Florida continues as the Marlins and Rays meet up during rivalry week of interleague baseball.
The Marlins have dominated this series and have won 34 of 55 meetings.
The Rays are struggling of late and have lost six of their last nine. They don’t have a significant starting pitching advantage in this series, so look for their struggles to continue.

Kansas City Royals @ Arizona Diamondbacks
The Kansas City Royals cute little run at the start of the season is a distant memory. They are 3-7 over their last 10 and now have to head on the road to one of the toughest places to play.
The Arizona Diamondbacks, who have been struggling themselves, will be happy to get a visit from the Royals. The D-Backs are 21-12 at home and need to win a series to get back on track. They are only five games over .500 after tearing through the first month of the season.
The Diamondbacks are 26-14 at home versus a team with a losing record.
The Royals are 10-11 against left-handed pitchers and will face two in this series. On Friday, Doug Davis will take on Zack Greinke and on Saturday, Randy Johnson will head to the mound against Luke Hochevar.
The Royals are only 9-18 against teams with a winning record.

Atlanta Braves @ Los Angeles Angels
The Atlanta Braves have won only seven road games this season and now have to head to the West coast for a series against the National League West leading Los Angeles Angels.
Interestingly enough, the Angels struggle against losing teams. They are 14-12 against teams below .500. The Braves are 15-16 against teams with a winning record.
The Angels will face a lefty on Friday, Jo Jo Reyes, and then Charles Morton on Saturday, who will be making his first start.
The Angels have pummeled left-handed pitching this season winning 13 of 15 games.
Los Angeles has a pitching advantage in this series with their three starting pitchers, Jon Garland, Ervin Santana and Joe Saunders all boasting ERA’s under 3.87. They also have a combined record of 23-8.
The Braves will have their big No. 3 hitter in the lineup for this series. Chipper Jones was activated from the disabled list two games ago and is 2-8 with a walk since his return.
