MLB Baseball Betting Odds - Oakland at San Francisco
While the Washington Nationals, (26-42, 35-33 RL) were generally predicted to be one of the bottom feeders in the National League in 2008 – and haven’t disappointed – the Seattle Mariners, (24-42, 27-38 RL) are another story altogether as they were predicted to be among the AL pennant contenders this season, but have failed miserably and sport the worst record in all of baseball betting despite having two of baseball’s best young pitchers in Erik Bedard and Felix Hernandez, not to mention baseball’s most consistent hitter in Ichiro Suzuki.
The Nationals have dropped two straight games and six of their last seven in the BetUS Sportsbook, including a convincing 7-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday that I correctly predicted in the BetUS Locker Room the same day.
While the Mariners beat the Toronto Blue Jays 2-1 on Thursday and have won two of their last three, the Mariners have won just three times in their last ten games overall and just six time in their last 21 games.
"It's a real good win for us," Seattle manager John McLaren said. "I feel good for the guys. They played hard."
The Mariners will go up against Nationals’ right-hander Shawn Hill (0-3, 4.35 ERA), who is coming off a solid start in his last outing as he limited the San Francisco Giants to just two runs in 7 1/3 innings, though he got no run support in Washington’s 6-0 loss on Saturday. Hill is also 0-2 this season with a 6.66 ERA in five road starts.
Seattle will counter with right-hander reliever R.A. Dickey (1-1, 2.67) who is replacing struggling right-hander Miguel Batista in the Mariners’ starting rotation for this contest.
Dickey has allowed just one earned run in 18 innings covering his last five appearances.

Analysis: With two absolutely horrific teams – and mediocre starters – meeting tonight, I say BetUS online MLB bettors should take the Seattle Mariners to win for the third time in their last four games, despite the fact that they have an inferior record to the Nationals. Dickey has been very solid out of the bullpen for Seattle and should give the M’s a quality start in this contest.
