MLB Baseball Betting - Milwaukee Brewers vs. Boston Red Sox
by D.S Williamson
The Milwaukee Brewers and the Boston Red Sox face-off in the second game of their three game interleague sports betting series this Saturday with the Brewers still smarting from a two game sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Both the Red Sox and Brewers are playing below online betting fans expectations going into this series and both could use a victory. The BoSox will try to get one when they send pitcher Tim Wakefield to the mound. Wakefield has been a solid starter for both Boston and BetUS online baseball betting fans for a number of seasons. This year he’s been his usual solid self going 3 and 2 with a 4.25 ERA. Those aren’t great numbers but he pitches for a team loaded with big-time hitters.
The Brewers counter Wakefield with Dave Bush. Bush has had a rough first few months to this MLB season. He’s gone 1 and 4 with an ERA of 6.06. Without a doubt, those numbers are going to make Dave Bush a huge underdog in this game.
Here are my personal betting odds for this game.
Dave Bush – R + 1 ½ + 105 + 215 O 9 - 120
Tim Wakefield – R - 1 ½ - 125 - 225 U 9 Ev
Here are a few MLB betting trends not counting Friday’s games that might help us find an online betting wager in this game.
The Milwaukee Brewers are 4 and 1 in their last 5 interleague games on the road.
The Milwaukee Brewers are 4 and 1 in Dave Bush’s last six starts on a Saturday afternoon.
The Over is 4-1-1 in the Boston Red Sox last 6 overall games.
The Boston Red Sox are 20 and 8 in Tim Wakefield’s last 28 starts at home.
The Red Sox are 6 and 1 in Tim Wakefield’s last 7 interleague game starts.
The Milwaukee Brewers are 0 and 6 in their last 6 games on the road.
Because Wakefield should be a huge BetUS online sportsbook favorite in this game, I have no option but to go with the Milwaukee Brewers to win this thing straight-up.
Yes, I do understand that the odds I’ve assigned to the Brewers, + 215, are probably over-hyping the situation, but I do think that the Brew-Crew will be huge underdogs.
Okay, so let’s say the BetUS online sportsbook releases odds on this game Saturday morning and the Brewers are + 165. Would that be any less tempting?
Not really since the Brewers usually do well in interleague play and a team like the Red Sox, who are coming off a World Championship, can play down to their competition at times.
Big Papi and Manny won’t have the same fire in this one as they would if they were playing the Yankees.
I’m going to try and take advantage of that by placing an online wager on the underdog Brewers to win this game straight-up.
