Analysis: While Mike Mussina once had the best curve bal in all of baseball, Mariners starter Felix Hernandez has the makings of a full-fledged staff ace and should blossom some more in this matchup. Take the Mariners despite being on the road, to win this game behind ‘King Felix.’

Baltimore Orioles at Los Angeles Angels
The Pitchers: Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Daniel Cabrera is 2-0 in six starts covering 37.0 innings with 21 strikeouts, 21 walks and a 4.14 ERA.
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jon Garland is 3-3 in six starts covering 36.1 innings with nine strikeouts, 12 walks and an ERA of 5.94.
Analysis: I am not impressed with either, Jon Garland or the Los Angeles Angels in the early going of 2008 and will take the surprising Baltimore Orioles to find a way to score enough runs off Garland to win this matchup despite being on the road.

Tampa Bay Rays at Boston Red Sox
The Pitchers: Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher James Shields is 3-1 in six starts covering 39.0 innings with 28 strikeouts, nine walks and a 2.54 ERA.
Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Josh Beckett is 2-2 in four starts covering 26.1 innings with 29 strikeouts, seven walks and a 4.10 ERA.
Analysis: While Everyone knows how overpowering Boston’s Josh Beckett can be on any occasion he takes the mound, the Rays’ James Shields is going to show everyone just why he may just be the best young pitcher in all of baseball. Believe it or not bettors, I say take the Rays to ‘shock the world.’
MLB Free Picks: Tampa Bay Devil Rays 4 Red Sox 2
Kansas City Royals at Cleveland Indians
The Pitchers: Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Gil Meche is 1-4 in six starts covering 33.2 innings with 23 strikeouts, 15 walks and a 7.22 ERA.
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Aaron Laffey is 0-1 in just one start covering 5 2/3 innings with one walk, one strikeout and a 6.35 ERA.
Analysis: With two mediocre starters going in this matchup, I say go with the better batting order and the home team to boot – the Cleveland Indians. Take Cleveland’s powerful batting order to pound the snot out of Royals overpaid, mediocre starter Gil Meche.
