Bet On MLB Baseball – Tigers Trying To Fix Problems Against Rangers
by Eric Williams
Give Detroit Tigers, (8-13, 11-10 O/U) veteran manger Jim Leyland some credit for not being afraid to try something new. Leyland has given the green light on a position switch between first baseman Carlos Guillen and third baseman Miguel Cabrera who was acquired in a trade with the Florida Marlins and signed to a $152.3 million, eight-year contract last month

Cabrera played designated hitter on Tuesday, hitting a home run, as the Tigers spanked the Texas Rangers, (7-14, 10-10-1 O/U) 10-2 in their series opener.
Guillen, who was an All-Star shortstop last year, moved to first this season after the Tigers acquired shortstop Edgar Renteria.
"We think, at this particular time, this gives us a better team," Leyland said.
The Tigers have won two straight and six of their last nine in the BetUS Sportsbook after getting off to an atrocious 0-7 start.
"We know our offense is capable of doing this, but we have to do it on a consistent basis," manager Jim Leyland said. "This was a good step, but we've done this before and then gone back into a slump."
The Rangers have dropped five consecutive games and 10 of their last 12.
"We're in a funk," Texas manager Ron Washington said. "First it was our defense, and now it is the pitching. It seems to have come all the way around on us."
The Tigers will send veteran left-hander Kenny Rogers (1-3) to the mound while Texas will counter with Luis Mendoza (0-2, 9.00) who is 0-2 in two starts covering 8.0 innings with three strikeouts and six walks.
Rogers is 1-3 in four starts covering 21.1 innings with nine strikeouts, 12 walks and a 6.33 ERA.
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends followed by my MLB Betting Picks.
The Rangers are 4-1 in their last five after scoring two runs or less in their previous game.
The Rangers are 7-3 in their last ten Wednesday games.
The Tigers are 4-0 in Rogers' last four starts when their opponent scores two runs or less in their previous game.
The Tigers are 4-1 in their last five games on grass.
The Over is 4-0 in Rangers last four games as an underdog of +110 to +150.
The Over is 6-0 in Rangers last six games with the total set at 9.0-10.5.
The Over is 4-0-1 in Rogers' last five starts with four days of rest.
The Under is 6-1 in Rogers' last seven starts as a home favorite of -151 to -200.
The Under is 4-0 in Rogers' last four starts vs. Rangers.
The Rangers are 1-4 in the last five meetings in Detroit.
The Rangers are 1-4 in the last five meetings.
Analysis: While Tigers crafty veteran Kenny Rogers is off to a mediocre start this season, I like Detroit to win this game quite handily while rocking Rangers starter Luis Mendoza. Take the Tigers and their mighty batting order to do some damage tonight.
