• What kind of racing does Prairie Meadows offer?
Prairie Meadows offers Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse and Harness racing.
• Can children watch the races at Prairie Meadows?
Yes, all age groups are allowed to view races from the Track Level, the Grandstand Level 2,
and the Clubhouse Level 4, however, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by
an adult.
• What time are the races?
The post times vary according to the type of racing, and what day of the week you are asking
about.
• Do you have tours of the stable area?
Yes, we have regularly scheduled weekly tours on Fridays at 9am during both the
Thoroughbred and the Mixed Meets. Tours can be scheduled on Saturdays by appointment
only by calling 967-1374. Meet at the south Clubhouse entrance.
• How many races do you run per race day?
Typically we run 10 races on a race day. Each race is approximately 20 minutes apart, so the
entire race program lasts about 3 1/2 hours.
• How can I get a job taking care of the horses?
All the horses are taken care of by licensed trainers, however, it is not unusual for those
trainers to need help in the barns. If you have some experience working with horses, contact
the racing office at 967-1206 for more details.
