Pai Gow Poker

Pai-Gow poker is played with a classic 52-card deck plus one joker card. The player and the dealer are both dealt 7 cards, which are into two hands. One hand must contain 5 cards and the other hand the remaining 2. The object of the game is to have the best two poker hands, if both of the player’s hands outrank that dealer’s hands the player wins, if only one outranks the dealers hand this results in a tie and the wager is returned. If both of the dealer’s hands outrank the player’s hands, the player loses.

Here are the rules to remember when playing Pai-Gow Poker:

  • The 5-card hand must outrank the 2-card hand
  • Hands are ranked according to standard poker rankings
  • The Joker is considered wild only when completing a straight or a flush, otherwise it’s considered an ace
  • The Dealer wins any copied hands
  • The highest ranking hand is 4 aces plus the joker

Pai-Gow Poker pays out 19/20 on wins.
