Blackjack
A blackjack occurs when the player or dealer reaches 21 with only two cards so any Ace in combination with any 10 or face card. This hand is the highest ranking had and pays 3/2 on your wager.
Bust
This is when the total of the cards is 22 or more, the hand is a loss regardless of the other hands totals.
Hit
This is the term used when requesting another card.
Stand
This is when the player doesn’t want to take any more cards.
Double Down
The player can double down as there first action only, it requires them to double their bet and take only one more card and then Stand.
Splitting
If the player’s first two cards are of equal value, the player can separate the cards into two hands. The player will be required to place a wager on the second hand equal to that of the first hand.
Push
This is when both the player and the dealer have an equal total, the wagers are returned to the player.
Surrender
The player has the option to surrender or give up their hand before they take a card from the dealer, by doing this the player loses only half of their wager.
Insurance
If the dealer’s face-up card is an Ace, the player has the option to buy insurance. The insurance wager is equal to half of their original wager and pays 2/1 if the dealer has a blackjack, if the dealer doesn’t have blackjack the insurance wager is lost and the hand continues normally.
Soft Hand
A Soft Hand is one that includes an Ace value of 11.
