While today’s MLB features a multitude of spectacular hitters that can lead their respective teams to victory for the BetUS MLB online sports wagering community in the BetUS Sportsbook with one powerful swing of the bat, the age-old maxim of good pitching beating good hitting has stood the test of time for over a century of Major League Baseball play.
The BetUS MLB online sports wagering community can get prepared to make some serious money in the second half of the 2008 MLB regular season in the BetUS Sportsbook, often, by simply focusing their wagering efforts on baseball’s best pitching staffs, which have all been featured in the BetUS Locker Room often this season.
Here is a look at baseball’s best pitching teams in the BetUS Sportsbook.
Team, ERA, OBP, OPS, K
1. Chicago White Sox - 3.40, .307, .690, 585
Every pitcher in Chicago’s starting rotation has a winning record. Impressive!
2. Oakland A’s - 3.41, .306, .659, 578
Six pitchers have ERA’s under 3.00 while four others are under 4.00. Enough said.
3. Toronto Blue Jays - 3.51, .310, .690, 628
Surprised? Don’t be. Only one starter has a losing record and the Jays have an absolutely dominant bullpen that features five hurlers with Era’s under 3.00.
4. Tampa Bay Rays - 3.65, .307, .684, 575
Led by Scott Kazmir, the Rays have four starters with winning records and just three relievers whose respective ERA’s are over 4.00.
5. Los Angeles Dodgers - 3.75, .322, .698, 616
With three starters with losing records, it’s clear to see this team’s strength is in its bullpen where a whopping seven pitchers have spectacular ERA’s under 3.00.
Here is a look at baseball’s best hitting teams in the BetUS Sportsbook.
Team - BA, OPS, HR, K
1. Chicago Cubs - .282, .804, 94, 610
Five hitters have already reached double digits in home runs and three have driven in at least 50 runs.
2. Boston Red Sox - .279, .801, 100, 554
The Sox also have five hitters in double digits in long balls and three that have driven in at least 50 runs while two of those hitters are batting over .300.
3. Texas Rangers - .279, .804, 102, 625
The Rangers are tied with the Cubs and Red Sox with four players having double digits in home runs, but have four batters who have driven in at least 50 runs led by Josh Hamilton’s jaw-dropping 82 RBI. Two Rangers are also hitting over .320.
4. Minnesota Twins - .275, .732, 57, 506
I’m surprised as only Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau are batting over .300 and just one player has driven in over 50 runs, (Morneau).
5. St. Louis Cardinals - .274, .777, 90, 502
Ryan Ludwick, Troy Glaus and Rick Ankiel have carried the club since team leader Albert Pujols went down. St. Louis has a whopping nine batters that have reached double digits runs driven in.
