Juice, vigorish or simply “The Vig” is the commission applied to losing bets. This is how a bookmaker makes his money. On standard lines the vig is 10c for every dollar bet, so when you make your bet your will need to risk $1.10 for every dollar that you want to win.
The Dead heat rule applies when two competitors in an event tie for first place. If a dead heat is declared, half of the stake will be graded at full odds and the other half of the stake will be a loss. If more that two tie in the dead heat, the stake is proportioned accordingly.
If one of the games in a parlay is a push then the parlay will reduce so for example you have a 5-team parlay and one game is a push, the wager will be graded as a 4 teamer. If there is a push in a two-team parlay, the bet reduces to a single wager on the remaining game.
