Deutsche Bank Championship Betting Six Pack

by BetUS Staff

Is his name Sergio Garcia? Or, is it Phil Mickelson? For the second time in three weeks, Sergio Garcia could not close the deal. In the PGA Championship, he got overrun by Padraig Harrington. In the Barclay’s this past weekend, he gut run down by Vijay Singh. What the heck is going on with the kid?

Because this is golf, Sergio’s near misses has only made him even more of a favorite in the BetUS online sportsbook for this weekend’s tournament - - the Deutsche Bank Championship. At the time of this writing, Sergio’s online odds are + 900 to win this tournament.

But Garcia’s not the favorite in this weekend’s tournament. Phil Mickelson is. That’s right. The same Phil Mickelson who has floundered the past three weeks. Phil’s is a + 800 favorite in the BetUS online sportsbook to win the Deutsch Bank Championship.

As always, I’ll be looking for a nice-priced overlay to upset both the inconsistent Phil and inconsistent Sergio.

Let’s get to it!

Deutsch Bank Championship Best Online Wagering Interests

1. Ben Curtis online odds + 4000 - - Ben had a terrific tournament in The Barclay’s. He looked like he might actually win the thing and would have if he could have just kept things together on that back nine and Vijay hadn’t surged. At 40 to 1 online golf betting odds, I have to take this guy in this tournament. He’s finally found his stroke late in the season. That makes him a great online play.

2. Kenny Perry online odds + 3500 - - Perry has fallen off some since his victory about six weeks ago in the John Deere Classic, but this is golf where things can turn around quickly for a golfer - - good or bad. I expect Perry to come back well in this tournament.

3. Padraig Harrington online odds + 1800 - - Padraig missed the cut at The Barclay’s. No worries. He had the right to “bounce” after that stellar performance in the PGA Championship. I see him coming back and actually playing very, very well in this tournament. He’s got the skills and the man’s pride won’t let him miss two cuts in a row.

4. Mike Weir online odds + 3300 - - He had a great tournament at The Barclay’s. He finished two strokes off of both Vijay and Sergio. There’s no reason to believe he won’t keep it going this weekend. At 33 to 1 online golf wagering odds, he’s a great online bet.

5. Sergio Garcia online odds + 900 - - I hate, absolutely detest, making an online bet on a golfer at less than double-digit odds, but I can’t jump off of Sergio’s bandwagon just yet. He’s been so close lately and I like him more than defending champion Phil Mickelson in this tournament. I just have to believe that Sergio gets the victory one of these days.

6. Jim Furyk online odds + 2500 - - Furyk finished three strokes behind Garcia and Singh at The Barclays. He could surprise at decent odds. It’s about time he won a tournament this year, right? Doesn’t Jim always win at least one tournament each year?

Good Luck!
