The 2008 online NASCAR betting campaign delivered action more special than year's past, which will long be remembered by motorsports novice, NASCAR odds wagering enthusiasts and sports betting fans in general.

Sprint Cup's first 26-of-36 events makes up the regular-season, which was dominated by Kyle Busch who claimed eight wins, sweeping both road-course races, as well as, conquering all oval-sized tracks on the circuit. And, Busch won at Atlanta for Toyota's first victory in Cup competition. All feats easily earning him top-spot to start the Chase for the Cup in which Busch was the BetUS NASCAR odds on favorite to win.

Instead, he failed to find Victory Lane during the ten-race postseason, and finished tenth among the twelve Chase drivers eligible for the title. While Busch endured a monumental meltdown, Jimmie Johnson raced to history by joining Cale Yarborough as only the second NASCAR three-peat champion. Johnson raised the 2008 Cup with three Chase wins, six top-5s and eight top-10s.

Two drivers that finished 2008 in different gears were Carl Edwards and Jeff Gordon. Edwards was runner-up in the Chase and finished with an overall series-best nine wins. Meanwhile, Gordon failed to post a win during the season for the first time since his 1993 rookie year.

It was an action packed season and one for the ages. If you bet on NASCAR and have the need for speed, you won't have to wait long for the start of the 2009 season, which officially begins with the Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 15.
