Surprising Bills Look to Keep Cardinals Caged

by Eric Williams

The Buffalo Bills, (4-0 SU, 3-1-0 ATS, 3-1-0 O/U), are off to their best start since 1992 and will look to keep their record spotless when they hit the road to face the struggling Arizona Cardinals, (2-2 SU, 2-2-0 ATS, 2-2-0 O/U), losers of two straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook.

The Bills are coming off a thorough 31-14 spanking of the lowly St. Louis Rams on Sunday while the Cardinals gave up a career-high six touchdown passes to quarterback Brett Favre in the team’s 56-35 spanking.

Despite their terrific start, the Bills, who finished off their third straight fourth quarter comeback this season, say they still have a lot of work to do to get where they want to be at season’s end.

"We still don't feel like we're anywhere near our potential," quarterback Trent Edwards said. "We're going in the right direction. But we still have a lot left to give. So I don't know how good we can be."

Edwards completed 15 of 25 passes for 197 yards, one touchdown and one interception and defensive back Jabari Greer returned an interception 33 yards for a touchdown.

"I think it's done wonders for our confidence," Greer said. "The way that we've come together as a team, I think it gives us momentum and gives us belief in ourselves to know we can win when the game's not necessarily all in our control."

The Cardinals were totally embarrassed by the Jets as quarterback Kurt Warner threw three interceptions, despite completing 40 of 57 passes for a whopping 472 yards.

Arizona will likely be without electrifying wideout Anquan Bolding, after suffering a fractured sinus as the result of a cheap shot late in the game on a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jets' safety Eric Smith.

"It's a team sport so it's the team's fault," Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "Obviously we did not protect Kurt well enough. But there is enough blame to go around for everybody."

Here is a look at the game’s key trends, followed by my analysis and NFL Free Picks.

NFL Odds

Buffalo Bills +1 -110

Arizona Cardinals -1 -110

Over 44½ -110

Under 44½ -110

Analysis: I know I picked the Cardinals to reach the playoffs this season or at least record their first winning season in over a decade after recording an encouraging 8-8 record in 2007. but I just don’t see this team beating a Bills team that keeps finding ways to win while clearly outplaying each opponent they’ve faced this season in the all-important fourth quarter.

Take the surprising Buffalo Bills to cover the spread while winning outright!
