For games played in North America/NHL/NCAA, any period of overtime is included in the final result to determine winning team and total score, unless specified otherwise.
If the game remains tied after an OT period in the NHL, the 2 teams will go to a shootout. The winner of the shootout will be credited with 1 extra goal to be added to their existing score. Thus, if 2 teams go to a shootout tied at 3, the winner of the shootout will ultimately be determined as the game’s winner by an official score of 4-3. The final score after the shootout is the final score for wagering purposes for spreads, moneylines, and totals.
Overtime stats are valid for player specific props, but shootout stats are not.
